Proven effect Funcosil SNL: >10 year.

Property profile Funcosil SNL

For hydrophobizing impregnation of porous, cementitious building materials such as brick and clinker masonry work, fair-faced sand-lime brick masonry work, cementitious renders, fibrated cement, aerated concrete, light-weight concrete and modular concrete blocks, natural stone. Can also be used on surfaces already hydrophobized.

Directions for application of Funcosil SNL
The Funcosil SNL is applied under gravity in a flow coating procedure generously enough that a 30-50 cm long film of liquid runs down the building material. The nozzle should be held horizontally and led along the facade without interruption. After the Funcosil SNL has been absorbed, the process is repeated several times. Spraying pressure and nozzle diameter should be selected so that misting does not occur. To avoid missing areas, limited sections should be completely impregnated without interruption. A brush or roller can be used for smaller, complicated surfaces that do not allow a spray application. In this case, the required application rate can only be achieved by working with well saturated tools. Protect the freshly impregnated surface from driving rain for at least 5 hours. Strong wind and sunlight may accelerate evaporation of the carrier which has a negative influence on penetration depth. The surface of less absorbent substrates should be washed off with V 101 Thinner half an hour to an hour after application to remove excess material which could create a gloss. Working temperature: Water repelling impregnation is preferably carried out at temperatures between +10 °C and +25 °C. Sun awnings can be used to prevent surfaces from heating too strongly. At temperatures below 10 °C, evaporation of the carrier and formation of the active ingredient may be considerably delayed.

Proven effect Funcosil FC: >15 year.
Shelf life: minimum 12 months

Property profile

For hydrophobizing impregnation of porous, cementitious building materials such as brick, clinker, sand-lime brick, render, natural stone and fibrated cement. Rain tight: approx. 30 min. after application. Not sensitive to frost. Not suitable for dense building materials such as marble, granite or cleaving tiles.

Directions
Funcosil FC is applied by roller (long-haired lambskin roller), brush or airless equipment. Depending on the absorbency of the substrate, application rates of up to 0.2 l/m² can be applied in one working operation even on vertical surfaces and ceilings without a loss of material. Working temperature: Hydrophobizing impregnation is preferably carried out at temperatures between +5 °C and 25 °C. Sun awnings can be used to prevent surfaces from heating too strongly. At temperatures below 10 °C, evaporation of the carrier and formation of the active ingredient may be considerably delayed. Rain tight: At the earliest after 60 minutes or after the cream has been completely absorbed.

Application rate
Depending on porosity approx. 0.15 to 0.20 l/m². Impregnation agent requirements for calculation and tender should be determined on a sufficiently large trial area (1- 2 m²). The effectiveness of the impregnation can also be checked on this surface.

Contents: 12,5 Liter

Property profile
Remmers Injection Cream 80 is an solventfree, aqueous, injection cream with an high active ingredient content of 80%.

Ready to use

Silane based, solvent-free

Very high yielding, low application rate

Optimised for application under gravity

Easy, fast and reliable

Suitable for a high degree of moisture saturation

Application rates can be easily calculated

Processing Injection Cream 80

Surface preparation
If present, remove old plaster layer at least 80 cm more than the visible moisture-salt damage limit. Remove bad, affected joints 2 cm deep. Seal open joints with Remmers Grundputz. Treat walls up to 30 cm above the injection zone or above ground level with Remmers sulfatex mortar from the Kiesol system (mineral seal with depth effect).

Adjacent parts
Building parts and/or materials that should not come into contact with the impregnating agent (e.g. glass, painted or parts yet to be painted) must be properly protected, just like plants (e.g. by covering them with construction film).

Drill holes
Take a 12mm diameter drill and drill holes in one row with a distance between holes of 12cm, horizontally in the wall. Drill hole depth up to approx. 2 cm before end wall thickness. Walls, thickness > 0.6 m, drill from both sides if necessary. Example: with a wall thickness of 20 cm, the borehole is 18 cm deep. Before filling the holes, completely remove the drilling dust.

Injection
Injection Cream 80 is injected or applied into the masonry through the drill holes. The boreholes are usually placed just above ground level on the outside or at the height of the plinth inside. Press the spray lance, adapted to the diameter of the drilled holes, as deeply as possible into the drilled hole. The drill hole must be completely filled by allowing the Kiesol C to flow out very slowly and simultaneously withdrawing the spray lance. A regular low-pressure weed sprayer with a straight lance can also be used for this.
The application is still possible at a moisture content of approximately 95%. To prevent evaporation of the effective active substance from the boreholes, they must be closed as soon as possible with Remmers WP DS Levell (item no. 042625).

Example consumption per linear meter (1 m1)

Wall thickness 10 cm: 90 - 130 ml

Wall thickness 20 cm: 200 - 250 ml

Wall thickness 30 cm: 320 - 360 ml

Wall thickness 50 cm: 540 - 500 ml

Frequently asked question: what is the difference between Kiesol C and Kiesol C+?
Injection Cream 80 is virtually identical to Kiesol C and both have 80% active ingredient. However, InjectionCream 80 does not have the certificates that Kiesol C's business processors need for their projects, but is therefore cheaper.
Kiesol C+ accelerates the reaction time with the substrate. This means that horizontal sealing is achieved more quickly with C+.
Property profile Kiesol C
Kiesol C is an aqueous, solventfree injection cream with an active ingredient content of 80%.

Ready to use

Silane based, solvent-free

Very high yielding, low application rate

Optimised for application under gravity

Easy, fast and reliable

Suitable for a high degree of moisture saturation

Application rates can be easily calculated

WTA cerificates available

Processing Kiesol C

Injection
Kiesol C is injected or applied into the masonry via the drill holes. The boreholes are usually placed just above ground level on the outside or at the height of the plinth inside. Press the spray lance, adapted to the diameter of the drilled holes, as deeply as possible into the drilled hole. The borehole must be completely filled by allowing the Kiesol C to flow out very slowly and simultaneously withdrawing the spray lance. A regular low-pressure weed sprayer with a straight lance can also be used for this.
Application is still possible at a moisture content of approximately 95%.

Frequently asked question: what is the difference with Kiesol C+?
Kiesol C is a successful and proven product. Kiesol C+ accelerates the reaction time with the substrate. This means that horizontal sealing is achieved more quickly with C+.

Contents: 30 liter

Range of use
Remmers KSE 300 can be used to strengthen medium pored, absorbent and friable mineral building materials, preferably sandstone. It can also be used to strengthen historical renders and joints. Stone with pronounced swelling and shrinking properties caused by swelling capable clay materials should be pre-treated with Remmers Antihygro (Art. No. 0616) to reduce swelling. The stone should be examined in Remmers' laboratory.

Property Profile
Property profile Remmers KSE 300 reacts with water stored in the pore system or humidity. During this reaction, amorphous and hydrous silicon dioxide (SiO2,aq, "silica gel") is deposited as a binder. The mineral silica gel binder thus replaces the original binder lost through weathering. The speed of the gel deposit reaction is very dependent on temperature and humidity. Under normal conditions (20 °C, 50 % relative humidity), the deposit of binder is concluded after approx. 3 weeks.

In the following, the most important property parameters of Remmers KSE 300 are given: 

Gel deposit rate approx. 30 % 

Single component system – no errors, easy to use 

Neutral catalyst 

Great penetration depth, possible all the way down to the sound core of the stone material 

No by-products that damage the building 

High weathering resistance and UV stability 

Partially strengthened natural stone can be worked over with Remmers Restoration Mortar

Property profile Clean FP
Remmers Clean FP facade cleaner paste is suitable for all facade surfaces made of clinker, brick and natural stone as well as for sculptures. It is not suitable for fair-faced masonry work made of sand-lime brick. It does not dissolve the remains of mortar.

Facade Cleaner Paste is a ready to use, slightly acidic, thixotropic facade cleaner paste for clinker, brick and natural stone surfaces. Since the paste is not highly acidic, there is very little loss of substance. Dark types of stone may become lighter in colour if the paste is left on the stone for a long time. Because of its thixotropic formulation, it can be applied cleanly and efficiently and the material does not run.

Directions Clean FP
Before using, a trial surface should always be set up first on an inconspicuous place. Apply Clean FP cleaner paste to the dry facade to be cleaned with a wide brush or lambskin roller. Allow to act for 2-5 minutes; do not allow to dry. Do not pre-wet the facade surface! Rinse off thoroughly with plenty of water under pressure (high pressure cleaner). When there are deeper lying joints, clean these areas especially thoroughly. Areas with stubborn soiling can be scrubbed with a brush (before rinsing off with water). After rinsing there should be no residue in deeper lying areas.
Working temperature: Between +5 °C and + 30°C.

Application rate Clean FP

Suppresses capillary water absorption according to WTA, tested up to a degree of 80% moisture penetration by injecting under gravity.

Directions
I. Refurbishment of old buildings: a) Borehole procedure "Injection of Masonry Work against Capillary Rising Damp" in ground floors and basements: Remove render and/or coatings at least 80 cm above the moist edge. Chase out damaged mortar joints up to 2 cm deep. Pre-wet dry areas and apply a silicification treatment consisting of Kiesol diluted 1:1 with water and Remmers Sulfatex Grout. Then close open joints with Remmers Waterproofing Filler. To inject masonry work in a borehole procedure against capillary rising damp, drill holes in intervals of 10-12.5 cm with a downward slope of approx. 25°, less for thicker walls and more for narrower walls. Depending on the procedure used, the diameter of the boreholes should be 10 to 30 mm. When drilling the holes, cross at least one horizontal joint, ending approx. 5 cm before the end of the wall.

Fill hollow masonry, e.g. double leaf cavity masonry with a loose core filling, narrow cracks, etc., with Remmers Injection Mortar first. At the earliest after 7 days (the Injection Mortar must have hardened), these boreholes are redrilled. In the case of extremely hollow masonry work, it is also possible to fill one row of boreholes with Injection Mortar first and then to inject with Kiesol 5 cm higher. Injection is made under gravity through suitable storage containers, e.g. for narrow walls up to 24 cm thick with an injection cartridge, otherwise with feeding devices, until the surrounding wall area is saturated. When a low pressure procedure is used (approx. 4-8 bar), light pressure injection packers or plastic packers are used: Injection equipment: Kiesol Surface Sprayer with coupling, Hübner Airless 1301 VP or Desoi Injection Pump DEMb03, Dittman Unipress.
Guide values for impregnation time with Kiesol:
30 sec. approx. 0.25 kg
1 min. approx. 0.5 kg
2 min. approx. 1.0 kg

For further details, read the information provided by the equipment manufacturer.

Supporting measures for masonry work injection:
- One silicification treatment as vertical surface treatment from the floor slab up to approx. 20 cm above the row of boreholes, using Remmers Preparatory Mortar
- Remmers Special Restoration Render

Substrate preparation: Remove old render at least 80 cm above the visible moisture edge. Chase out damaged joints 2 cm deep. Fill open joints with Remmers Undercoat Render. Coat wall surfaces up to 30 cm above the row of boreholes with Remmers Sulfatex Grout in the Remmers Kiesol System (mineral waterproofing with deep protection).
Below the horizontal barrier, separate the render in the floor connection by a joint and, depending on requirements, waterproof the floor surface. b) Subsequent basement waterproofing from the interior with a silicification treatment using Kiesol diluted 1:1 with water and Remmers Sulfatex Grout: Preparation of the substrate: All substrates must be sound, load-bearing and free of substances that could interfere with adhesion and loose or soft materials. Basement masonry work, interior: Remove old render at least 80 cm above the visible moisture edge. Remove old coatings and clean the entire surface, e.g. by mist blasting (Rotec), also mechanically on small areas. Indentations must be filled and masonry work made of cavity blocks with a very coarse surface texture (e.g. basement building blocks, slag blocks) must always be rendered first (Remmers Undercoat Render or Remmers Waterproofing Filler) and waterproofed after the render has set. Interior waterproofing is executed continuously. For this, separate interior dividing walls from exterior walls approx. the width of a block as far up as the render was removed. In the floor-wall connection, chisel out screed approx. 20 cm wide, or, in the case of leaking basement slabs, remove screed completely. Partial leaking areas in the masonry work, e.g. floor connection joints, horizontal joints with barrier membrane, are pre-waterproofed using Kiesol and Remmers Rapid Hardener and closed with Remmers Waterproofing Filler. Fill cracks leading water, construction joints especially in concrete with Remmers Injection Resin PUR or inject through packers. Pre-wetting the substrate: Pre-wetting is carried out, depending on the moisture content and absorption capacity of the substrate. Highly absorbent masonry work (e.g. dry sand-lime brick) should be pre-wet several times prior to treating!

The waterproofing should only be applied to matt damp substrates and never to shiny wet substrates. Directions: For subsequent surface waterproofing with deep protection, diluted Kiesol is used in combination with Sulfatex Grout, applying as a silicification treatment, wet-on-wet: Spray on Kiesol diluted 1:1 with water, covering the entire matt damp substrate. Spray only enough that it does not run down. After a waiting time of at least 15 minutes, brush on Sulfatex Grout over the entire surface in a grouting procedure. The grout should be applied in a minimum layer thickness of 1 mm. After this first silicification treatment, wait 20 minutes (depending on substrate) before applying a second coat of grout. For standing seepage water or water pressure, apply three silicification treatments using Sulfatex Grout. The minimum application rate for the grout is 2.0 kg/m² (> 1 mm thick layer) per coat. The total thickness of the layer of grout should not exceed 5 mm at any one place. Since future water loads may change, we recommend that three silicification treatments are always applied. Place a sealing cove in the floorwall connection made of Remmers Repellent Mortar or Remmers Waterproofing Filler. Then throw on Remmers Preparatory Mortar onto the last layer of grout, covering the entire surface. If the spritz is not applied the same day, apply another layer of Sulfatex Grout without using Kiesol and while fresh, throw on Preparatory Mortar. After setting, at the earliest after 3 days, apply render, using Remmers Special Restoration Render Restoration or Fast Restoration Render. Separate the render on the wall from the floor with a joint at least 1 cm wide. Never apply gypsum or lime render.
Range of use

Kiesol is a liquid combination product made of water repelling silicic acid compounds

Water repelling, capillary narrowing, deep protection for waterproofing damp masonry work

Protection against capillary rising damp through injection with Kiesol in a borehole procedure

Diffusion open barrier zone (deep protection) against the effect of moisture from behind

Improved adhesion by priming, diluted 1:1 with water

Strengthens the substrate and increases chemical resistance through silicification

Faster working operations through silicification treatments with waterproofing grouts (system waterproofing in one day)

As a solvent-free, highly concentrated system component, Kiesol is environment-friendly and is thus also suitable for indoor applications
